International Students

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

Applying to college or graduate school in the United States - Let us help you find the colleges and universities that fit you the best.

Emerson Educational Consulting will help international students:

  • Plan high school curriculum
  • Discuss standardized testing options
  • Research college and universities
  • Apply to colleges and universities
  • Brainstorm essay topics
  • Refine essays
  • Understand the visa application process for foreign students
  • Prepare for interviews

There are aspects of the American college system that international students should keep in mind.

  • The college/university calendar usually begins in August or September and continues through May or June. It is a good idea for international students to enter U.S. universities in the fall because most new students enter at this time, and there are orientation programs to help students adjust.
  • Many U.S. colleges/universities require both American and international students to take admission tests. If you need to take one or more of these exams (i.e. the TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT) make sure you register for each exam that you need.
  • If English is not your native language, it is natural to be concerned about studying in the United States. Many colleges/universities have people in place to help international students adjust and make the most of out studying in the United States.

We have extensive experience working with international students and ESL students. We have helped students from many countries including China, India, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria.

Applying to either undergraduate or graduate school in the US should not be overly stressful for international students. Telephone Emerson Educational Consulting, at 212-671-1972 or email us at mgse@emersonec.com for more information.

Given the nature of the admissions process and the selectivity of many educational institutions, we cannot guarantee admission to any institution.
